John Furnish Day

On the 10 August we held our annual open competition. The day went so well with some excellent bowling. Many of the visiting teams were amazed that they were actually playing on wonderful green grass which is not the case around the county due to such a dry period. The final was between a team from Manningtree / Mistley and a team from Bealings. The winners were the Bealings team. 

Well done Beallings.

Chairmans Cup

Congratulations to Brian Cassells and Reg Dines on winning the Chairmans Cup (Drawn Pairs) competition. The day went really well with many close games throuhout.

Mick Lomax Trophy

Sunday the 14 September saw 8 teams of 4 compete for the Mick Lomax Trophy, the winners going through to represent the club at nexts years John Furnish Open Competition. The day started with a bacon butty and then the games started at 9 o'clock, hopefully to miss the rain forcasted for 4 o'clock. Some excellent bowling was seen throughout the day with the final ending in a draw, so one more end was played and the game won by Melvyn Powell, Diane Lewis, Brian Matthews and David Hunter.
